Turf Management Team wins Field of the Year Award
A special congratulations to our Turf Management Team here at the Maryland SoccerPlex: the Sports Turf Managers Association named the Maryland SoccerPlex Stadium Field as Field of the Year for Soccer in the School and Parks category. In addition to this prestigious award, on December 13th the Montgomery County Council issued a proclamation congratulating the SocccerPlex, which is what the team is holding in the photograph above.
The Field of the Year award is selected by a panel of six judges who independently scored each entry based on the playability and appearance of the playing surfaces, innovative solutions employed, effective use of budget, and the development and implementation of a comprehensive, sound agronomic program. The STMA Awards Committee includes all segments of STMA membership and represent some of the finest facilities in all of America.
