The Maryland Soccer Foundation is honored to present the 2nd Annual DISCOVERY CUP, a premier-level youth soccer tournament featuring the best in the country! We are extremely proud that Discovery Communications, Inc., the parent company of the DISCOVERY CHANNEL and the naming sponsor of the Discovery Sports Center is the title sponsor of this annual tournament! The tournament will be held Columbus Day Weekend, October 11-13, 2008.
ALL teams will play their games at the finest soccer facility in the United States…a facility consisting of 19 bluegrass fields, a 3200-seat, lighted stadium and 3 synthetic, lighted turf fields!
Ten of the top Women’s College Soccer teams, four outstanding youth teams and the 2007 W-League Champions, Washington Freedom will participate in the 12th Annual KICKS Against Breast Cancer College Tournament on April 12, 2008, at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md. This event will provide a weekend of college soccer and philanthropy. Gathering some of the best college soccer programs in the country, teams will make a difference off the field in the lives of people affected by cancer. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Howard County General Hospital’s Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center: a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine in Columbia, Md., a 501c3 non-profit organization supporting individual’s affected by cancer.
