About Futsal
Leagues, Clinics and Developmental Programs at the DSC

Futsal is played on a small field that does not require the use of dasher boards with a ball that is heavier and smaller than an official size 5 soccer ball. It is a complete game of skill and develops the overall technical side of soccer more effectively. It has been proven that youth players develop quicker reflexes, faster decision making and stronger overall technical ability playing Futsal.
As noted in the Washington Post on October 25 highlighting the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup, Brazil's savvy forward Marta was recognized as "starting soccer at the age of 7, and perfected her skills in the indoor game know in Brazil as 'fut-sal'...her goal in last night's game bore all the hallmarks of indoor play (Futsal)."
